In December 2004, THE SPECTRAL PRiDE decided to go into the Bunker and do a recording session with Jonny Deadpan, former chief yodeller of The Compact Pussycats.

Although he’d murdered quite a few Deadpan songs on previous TSP projects, Bland hadn’t met the Deadpan himself, and the rest of the PRiDE were worried that the two wouldn’t get on. Hands, who himself had fallen out with Deadpan in the past, came up with one of his rare statements when the matter was first discussed: ‘That’ll be a ballrace and half.’

The session went ahead, however, with Deadpan coming up with a basic idea for a song, ‘Dangerman’, which was then fleshed out by the PRiDE and recorded. To everyone’s surprise, Deadpan and Bland got on like a couple of prize twats, and shared yodelling duties on ‘Dangerman’ without any difficulties whatsoever.

In fact, such was the success of the session, Bollockbrain Productions suggested to Deadpan and the PRiDE that they get together on a regular basis and record. Everyone was in agreement, and after a nutting session over a few beers, it was decided to call the project Twitch&Sway.

‘Well paint my toenails blue and swear at me, Glenda,’ said Hands.
